Thomas John Reale, man of faith

Thomas John Reale, 80, of Lewes, passed away Monday, Aug. 7, 2023, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes. He was born Nov. 15, 1942, in Wilmington, son of the late John P. Sr. and Doris (Centrella) Reale.

Thomas graduated from Salesianum High School in Wilmington and continued his studies attending Arkansas College. Thomas worked in the banking industry and also as a self-employed business consultant. Faith was a pillar in his life, serving on the vestry for two Episcopal churches throughout his life, and as a member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Lewes.  Thomas was a member of American Institute of Banking, Association of Builders and Contractors, and Lewes Rotary Club. He loved his family and friends, and above all, spending time with them was what he cherished most. Thomas was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He was loved by many, and will be deeply and genuinely missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him.

In addition to his parents, Thomas was predeceased by his in-laws, Herbert and Jane Pusey Harris; and his siblings, Maryann Reale and John Reale Jr.  He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Jean Harris Reale of Lewes; his daughter, Karen Reale; his grandson, Eric Reale; his nieces, Kelli, Christina, Lisa and Lauren; his nephews, Michael and David; his brother-in-law, David; his sisters-in-law: Linda Reale, Raye Simpson and Terry Bauman; and nine grand-nieces and -nephews.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
