Thomas W. Lynch Sr., Millsboro businessman

Thomas W. Lynch Sr. 93, of Millsboro, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2011, at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes.

Mr. Lynch was born in Millsboro, son of the late Grover and Bertha (Phillips) Lynch. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Navy.

He was the owner and operator of Lynch’s Plumbing & Heating and Lynch’s Antiques in Millsboro.  He was a member of Grace Methodist Church in Millsboro.

Thomas was preceded in death by a daughter, Joan McCabe; a brother, Reginald Lynch; and sisters, Betty Brittingham and Hilda Short.

He is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Anita (Magee) Lynch; a son, Thomas W. Lynch Jr. and his wife Susan of Georgetown; daughter Adele L. Pritchett of Midlothian, Va.; seven grandchildren, Thomas W. Lynch III, Jennifer Lynch, Brandon Pritchett, Leigh Pritchett, Jeremiah Pritchett, Scott Lynch and Crystal McCabe; and four great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, Dec. 12, at the chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 32013 Long Neck Road, Millsboro, where friends may call after 1 p.m. Burial will be in Millsboro Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Thomas’ memory to Meals on Wheels, Sussex County Senior Services, 546 S. Bedford St., Georgetown, DE 19947, Long Neck Center.
