Thoughts on Fishers Cove planned development

October 18, 2019

I have not kept score on the pro vs. con letters in this paper concerning Fishers Cove. It does seem the anti group has been covered more and been more vocal than some of us who consider the development a good solution for a potential problem with a lovely property that entered the market over three years ago.

My positive opinions are a matter of record. Some of my neighbors are of the same positive opinion, but seem intimidated by others.
As a 1934 Beebe Baby who has spent his entire life in Sussex County, I am not intimidated by anyone, but I do consider myself a realist and a considerate person. My late wife was the daughter of a river pilot; I married my current wife who taught most of her career at Sussex Central High School.

This good second marriage by two widowed folks is augmented by a love for Lewes and all it embraces.

Fishers Cove deserves a positive vote to allow those folks to show to all of the many agencies that they will be a part of the solution for Lewes’s future. I trust our town fathers (and mothers) will agree.

PS: Do not hold the historic home hostage; allow it to be repaired and enjoyed.
