Three Blonde Bakers celebrates first season in Bethany

October 18, 2015

Three Blonde Bakers celebrated their ribbon-cutting ceremony Sept. 19 with friends, family, customers and members of the Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce. Co-owner Brittany Baker cut the ribbon to commemorate their first successful summer season, and the celebration was complete with complimentary refreshments and bakery treats.

Sisters Brittany Baker and Cassidy Baker and their mother Ann Baker are the three blonde bakers who took ownership of the Home of the Original Fudge Factory this spring. Delaware Rep. Ronald E. Gray, R-Selbyville, attended the ceremony as a longtime family friend of the Bakers and to express his support for small businesses.

At the ceremony, Brittany Baker expressed her excitement to “have my own business in a town that I’ve worked pretty much every job that you could possibly work.” With a plethora of job experience under her belt, she decided it was time to become a business owner and put to use all the knowledge and experience she had gained from every boss, manager, coworker and owner she has worked for or encountered.

The Bakers spent the spring and summer learning how to make fudge and other treats for the bakery, and they had a successful summer season. Cassidy is now off to college while Brittany and Ann will maintain the business through the off-season and prepare for next summer. Three Blonde Bakers is at 108 Garfield Parkway in downtown Bethany Beach. For more information, go to www.fudgefactoryonline.com.
