TKo Hospitality and Hyatt Place raise $10,700 for Sam's Kids

Sam’s Kids 5K set Aug. 4 in Dewey Beach
July 13, 2024

During Memorial Day weekend, TKo Hospitality and Hyatt Place Dewey Beach hosted an Amish Outlaws concert on the bayside beach at the Lighthouse.

The event garnered $10,700 for Sam’s Kids, an organization dedicated to providing essential goods and services to at-risk children.

Sam’s Kids, formerly known as The Delaware Kids Fund, was established in 2008 by Harvey, Hanna & Associates Inc. The organization was renamed in November 2023 to honor Samuel J. Hanna and continues its mission to support children in distressed situations throughout Delaware.

"We are incredibly proud to have hosted such a successful event," said Andrew DiFonzo, TKo Hospitality vice president of operations. "The support from our community, the enthusiasm of the attendees, and the amazing performance by the Amish Outlaws all contributed to a memorable weekend and a significant contribution to Sam's Kids."

The free concert attracted hundreds of attendees who enjoyed a fantastic evening of music while supporting a worthy cause.

“The proceeds from the event will have an immediate and substantial impact on our community, supporting our recently expanded mission at Sam's Kids. Sam cared deeply about his community,” said Thomas J. Hanna, who co-founded Sam’s Kids with his wife Lexie Hanna. “Funds raised will help ensure that local, at-risk children benefit from our four essential programs: animal therapy and education, academic scholarships, food and nutrition support through elementary-based food closets, and safety provisions through clothing and shelter. Sam cared deeply for his friends and family, and felt safety and stability was a human right. He inspired us all with his enthusiasm, wisdom and deep understanding of others during his 13 years on earth. He overcame adversity, embraced each day as a new adventure, and through an anchor of hope shared a faithful and fulfilling life.”

TKo Hospitality and Hyatt Place Dewey Beach will host the inaugural Sam’s Kids 5K Sunday, Aug. 4.
