Tommy Town opens to benefit Camp Hope

May 6, 2024

Tommy Town in Harbeson opened its doors to the public for the first time April 27 in support of Camp Hope.

This initiative aims to bring joy and assistance to underprivileged children, providing them with a place to go for growth and fellowship, demonstrating that even the smallest gestures can create ripples of change.

A Cape Region native, Tommy Engel, the owner of Tommy Town, moved to Harbeson about 11 years ago. His mom serves on the board of directors for Camp Hope. Tommy Town displayed vintage Americana antiques, sign collections, classic cars and more.

The entrance fee was $10, with proceeds going to Camp Hope, a day camp which serves underprivileged children in the area. Camp Hope is funded entirely through donations and is served by Bethel United Methodist Church, Israel United Methodist Church and Conley’s United Methodist Church.
