As the summer season and warmer temperatures roll in, it’s time for the First State Antique Tractor Club’s 19th annual show, to be held Friday and Saturday, June 14 and 15, at the Ross Mansion in Seaford. This year’s feature tractor will be Allis-Chalmers and Related Equipment.

There will be activities for all ages including Touch-A-Truck/Touch-A-Tractor, Kids Pedal Tractor Pull, silent auction and more. A car and truck show will also take place for those who want to bring their vehicles to display. There will be antique stationary engines operating and on display; they were used for powering home and farmstead equipment in days gone by.

There will be live musical entertainment on Friday. There will be a crafters area with a working blacksmith, basket maker, broom maker and free face painting for kids. Delaware State Police will be on hand for a K-9 demonstration and fingerprinting for child safety. The show also features a flea market area with many vendors. There will also be fresh baked goods sold to benefit club activities.

At noon, Saturday, the club will present four $1,000 scholarships to full-time students who are accepted and enrolled in an agricultural program at a two- or four-year university or college. The scholarships are offered to high school seniors from Delaware and the Eastern Shore of Maryland.

Admission and parking are free. The show and flea market areas are comfortably shaded, and the public is welcome to celebrate the farming traditions and farmstead equipment from years past. More information and directions can be found at www.firststateantiquetractorclub.com.
