Ten years ago, my daughter Danica and I were enjoying unique and amazing small bites by chef Hari Cameron at his restaurant a(MUSE.) when we struck up a conversation with Claire Snyder-Hall and her wife, Mikki. Our family has had a home in Rehoboth Beach since 1985, and we moved to it full time in 2010, and I’ve always had an interest in the local government here and its politics.
Claire invited me to attend some local Democrat group’s meetings and then come to an open house in Legislative Hall in Dover with the group Claire headed – Delaware’s arm of the national group Common Cause. It was interesting and enlightening, and I encourage everyone with an interest in our government and our democracy to take the time to visit Legislative Hall during sessions.
Claire is a smart, hard-working, open-minded, caring person. Transparency is important to her and is good for us to have from her as our representative in Dover. She wants us all to take an interest in government, wants us all to enjoy a strong democracy. Thank you, Claire, for sharing that with me.
We have the opportunity to have Claire represent us in Dover, and your vote in the Tuesday, Sept. 10 primary election for Claire Snyder-Hall will help give us that opportunity. Let’s choose her as our Democrat state representative for District 14. See you at the polls!
