Trick-or-treaters take over Lewes

Kids and grownups enjoy neighborhood party vibe
October 31, 2024

When Kings Highway closed, the candy and costumes flowed. Spooky sounds and songs filled the night air.

For the second consecutive year, the City of Lewes blocked off the usually busy street for trick-or-treaters Oct. 31.

The neighborhood quickly turned into a party, with kids and adults showing off their Halloween finest.

Summer-like temperatures made for a fine evening to get outdoors.

“I started planning a couple of months in advance,” said Patty Corelli. She and Karen Trupo dressed as princesses to hand out candy in front of their Kings Highway home.

Many other groups gathered outside to watch the steady parade of costumes.

There were dinosaurs, Power Rangers, Ghostbusters and even a bulldozer roaming the streets.
