Trinity Faith Christian Center holds July 4th celebration

The Trinity Faith Christian Center hosted its 14th annual July 4th celebration and classic car show on New Road in Lewes. Fun, food and good times were the order of the day.

There were activities for kids who were able to win cool prizes for tickets earned during games like corn hole, putt putt golf, bean bag toss, ping pong ball toss and ring toss.

Classic cars and motorcycles were on display and trophies were presented to the owners. 

Best in Show went to Tina Challis for her 2013 yellow Camaro, Best Antique Car went to Herman Jackson for his 1929 Model A Ford. The Best Ford was presented to John Morris for his 2005 Mustang. Best Chevy trophy went to Bruce Hibbs for his 2014 Corvette. Best Motorcycle was presented to Jackie Hagans for his 1997 Kawasaki Vulcan. Best Sports Car was presented to Carley Collette for her 1989 Lotus Esprit.

Fried chicken, hamburgers, hot dogs, cole slaw, potato salad and sweet desserts were free of charge to all who attended.

Dan has worked for the Cape Gazette for more than 30 years as a photographer and reporter, covering high school sports and happenings around eastern Sussex County. He won a photography award from the National Newspaper Association, and numerous awards from the Maryland, Delaware, D.C. Press Association. A Delaware native, Dan graduated from Cape in 1972 and returned as a teacher and coach in the 1980s. He retired from the classroom in 2016. He was inducted into Cape High’s Legends Stadium in 2016. In his spare time, Dan enjoys spending time with his wife, two sons, grandchildren and dogs.
