More than 35 wrestlers of all ages from Maryland and Delaware grappled for the week at Kerry McCoy's University of Maryland Staff Beach Wrestling Camp at Cape Henlopen High School Aug. 6-9.
The Terps Beach Clinic was in Ocean City, Md., in previous years, but moved to Lewes this year for a change. Maryland assistant head coach Todd Beckerman and five University of Maryland wrestlers organized a variety of activities and drills for the young wrestlers to sharpen their skills.
Campers worked on fundamentals through advanced moves. The camp combined learning techniques and live wrestling to make the young grapplers better at the sport they love.
"We had wrestlers of all ages here this week," said Cape coach Chris Mattioni. "The campers had a varied degree of skills. It was a great mix. Our goal is to get better each year."
