The Rehoboth Beach-based VegRehoboth group celebrated compassion and community at its annual ThanksLiving feast, an event dedicated to promoting plant-based living.
The Nov. 24 dinner, held at Salero atop the Henlopen Hotel at 511 N. Boardwalk, drew a banquet hall full of attendees who enjoyed a sumptuous vegan meal featuring creative dishes such as glazed pecan sweet potato rounds with harvest vegetable terrine.
With a focus on honoring gratitude and kindness, the fundraiser featured live music by Roo on Uke along with silent and live auctions. The evening’s guest speaker was Paul Williams, chief meteorologist at WRDE, whose inspiring story of transformation through a plant-based lifestyle is truly remarkable. A survivor of multiple heart attacks and prostate cancer, Williams is now thriving and competing in bodybuilding competitions.
“The VegRehoboth ThanksLiving dinner, which began in 2013, has become a beloved tradition,” said Tara Sheldon, VegRehoboth president. “Our plant-based feast not only reflects our kindness toward animals, but also aligns with our commitment to nurturing the planet and improving our health.”
