VegRehoboth co-founder Tara Sheldon announced its three-day festival will return this year as Planet Delaware, part of the Planet Series events sponsored by Farm Animal Rights Movement, a national animal advocacy and sustainability organization.
Planet Delaware events are set for Friday to Sunday, Sept. 13 to 15, at Epworth United Methodist Church, Rehoboth Beach.
The festival joins similar regional happenings that support sustainability, animal rights and plant-based living. "To say our planet is in crisis would be an understatement. Joining the Planet Series reminds us of the urgency of tending to the needs of our environment now. Planet Delaware will showcase how easily we can each be better stewards of our planet and animals in healthful, mindful and compassionate ways,” said Sheldon.
Activities will include a Friday night film, an outdoor festival and art reception Saturday, and a Sunday brunch to close out the festival. Exhibitors are encouraged to register now and take advantage of early-bird pricing. Artisans, health and wellness practitioners, and musicians are encouraged to apply. Planet Delaware organizers are expecting record attendance based on how interest in sustainability and plant-based living has increased dramatically. Restaurants are offering many vegan and vegetarian choices to diners, and sustainably produced products from food to clothing are in greater demand.
Eric Lindstrom, executive director of FARM, said, “We are so excited to include Planet Delaware in our Planet Series Events Tour in 2024. For over a decade, VegRehoboth has demonstrated their commitment to promoting healthy, compassionate and sustainable living. This three-day event in September is a superb addition to our Planet Series events in Virginia, Maryland and D.C.”
