Villages of Five Points community holds salute to veterans

Villages of Five Points residents gathered Nov. 6 on the green to honor veterans and those actively serving in the armed forces.
The program included a visit from the Dover Air Force Base Honor Guard, the Cape Henlopen Junior ROTC Color Guard, musical renditions of the national anthem and other patriotic songs by children of the community, an address by retired USMC Master Sgt. Steven Lucas, and “Taps” performed by VOFP residents.
Residents collected items for Stockings for Soldiers, a group that sends filled Christmas stockings to soldiers deployed in more than 28 countries.
