Watercolor exhibit artists to host reception Aug. 8

July 29, 2024

Point of View, an exhibit of work by award-winning watercolor artists Anne Crown-Cyr, Joan Fabbri and Nancy Orme Mysak will open Saturday, Aug. 3, at Nassau Valley Vineyards.

The public is invited to a reception from 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 8, at 32165 Winery Way, Lewes. For details, call 302-645-9463 or go to nassauvalley.com.

Crown-Cyr of Rehoboth Beach paints in watercolor, gouache and oil; she likes to emphasize color and shape, and focuses on everyday objects or scenes.

Lewes-based Fabbri creates realistic works that offer a slice of life and defining moments in clear, refined palettes. Her landscapes, florals, still lifes and figure paintings are filled with details and narratives that allow the viewer to wander through the images with ease.

Mysak is also an award-winning former art educator. She loves the Maryland Eastern Shore, where she lives and paints her representational watercolors. The vibrancy of color and the way light affects it on an object are what attracts her to a subject. “I had worked for years painting in oils and acrylics, and doing printmaking, but when I found watercolor, I fell in love,” she said.

“We appreciate Peggy Raley-Ward’s generosity for the opportunity to show our work again in the lovely winery gallery,” said Crown-Cyr.
