Testing at permanent sites
COVID-19 testing is now available seven days a week in Sussex County. Three Walgreens offer testing seven days a week and three state service centers offer testing Monday-Friday.

• Adams State Service Center, 546 S. Bedford St., Georgetown, 302-515-3174; Shipley State Service Center, 350 Virginia Ave., 302-629-6772; and Laurel State Service Center, 31039 N. Poplar St., delaware.curativeinc.com. Appointments must be made in advance.
Pop-up testing continues
Pop-up testing in all three counties continues.
“Since May, we have tested over 300,000 people through community sites,” said A.J. Schall, director of the Delaware Emergency Management Agency. “With the use of both pop-up and static sites, we continue to refine our testing plan. New trailers were recently added to ensure that there is convenient testing for those who need it, when they need it.”

Big demand for flu shots
Through a series of free drive-through clinics, Beebe Healthcare staff have given more than 3,200 flu shots, which is 75 percent of the total of all shots given in 2019. Beebe has set up a Community Flu Hotline, 302-291-6FLU, to allow community members to hear the latest information via phone. Information is also released on Beebe’s Facebook page and website.
Woodbridge High closed for two weeks
Due to positive COVID-19 tests by some staff, Woodbridge High School near Bridgeville will be closed until Monday, Nov. 9. Classes will be held remotely and high school sporting events are cancelled.
Sussex Tech closed for cleaning
Sussex Technical High School closed Oct. 29 and Oct. 30 for deep cleaning after two staff members and a student tested positive during the week.
