Wildlife police cite boaters for drinking while boating
State wildlife officials cited several boaters throughout the Fourth of July weekend for boating under the influence of alcohol and other violations.
Fish and Wildlife Natural Resources police cited the following incidents:
Millsboro resident Anthony Yannvcci, 38, was cited July 2 for operating a vessel near Lewes while under the influence of alcohol.
Gaithersburg, Md., resident Jordan Jones, 32, was cited July 2 for operating a vessel under the influence of alcohol near Pot Nets Bayside on Indian River Bay, as well as negligent operation of a vessel and no life jacket on a child 12 years old or younger, as required by law.
Wilmington resident Charles J. Duricek, 59, also was cited July 2 for operating a vessel under the influence of alcohol near Pot Nets Bayside on Indian River Bay.
Millsboro resident Robert J. Klerlein, 50, was cited July 3 for operating a vessel under the influence of alcohol on Indian River Bay. He also was cited for operating a boat at night with no navigation lights.
Yannvcci, Jones, Duricek and Klerlein all have mandatory court appearances in Georgetown at a later date.
Over the weekend, natural resources police in Kent County also cited four commercial crabbers for possession of undersized blue crabs.
