William Biordi, had a zest for life

December 1, 2022

William Biordi, 74, passed away at his home in Rehoboth Beach Sunday, Nov. 27, 2022, surrounded by his family.

Bill was born in July of 1948, to the late Luciano and Rose (Figurelli) Biordi in Chester, Pa. Bill attended Chichester High School and graduated from West Chester University. Bill is survived by his wife, Nancy; and their daughter, Claire Biordi; son, Jason Keenan and his wife Caitlin; sister, Tess Culbert; brother, Mike Biordi and his wife Pam; and many loving nieces and nephews. Bill is also survived by his former wife, Jodi Ramone. Bill was preceded in death by his son, Nicholas; as well as his brothers, Angelo, Ray and Donnie; and sisters, Nathleen and Carmel.

Bill was a hardworker who always challenged himself to do more, both in work and in life. Some of his most joyful moments were spent in the kitchen surrounded by family and friends. He was a devoted husband, father and family man. He loved to dance, and had a zest for life that was infectious to all those around him. His eternally positive mental attitude and ability to find joy in every experience led his friends to coin the phrase “Bill Biordi Good” to define the best things in life, “taking happiness to a whole ‘nother level.”

Bill was a beloved leader, mentor, and friend to hundreds of insurance agents, brokers, financial advisors, and home office staff from numerous companies across the country. He worked selflessly for the people who reported to him, and for that, they gave him their unqualified support, willingly following him from one company to the next.

Bill fought a long battle with cancer with the help of his doctors, Adam Raben of Helen Graham Cancer Center and Kevin Kelly of Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, and all the dedicated nurses who helped him along the way.

His smile lit up every room; he will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. Bill loved the beach and would say he felt closer to God by the ocean.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, Dec. 5, at Chandler Funeral Home, 2506 Concord Pike, Wilmington. Funeral mass will be offered at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 6, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, 2013 Gilpin Ave., Wilmington.

Bill requested that you please omit flowers but if you wish to make a donation in his name, do so to Helen Graham Cancer Center, Department of Radiation Oncology, 4701 Ogletown-Stanton Road, Newark, DE 19713.
