Wilmington’s Platinum Dining Group to serve Lewes guests April 27
With six award-winning restaurants, Wilmington-based Platinum Dining Group is known for fine cuisine and creative cocktails.
The company’s collection includes Capers & Lemons in Wilmington, Taverna in Newark and north Wilmington, and Eclipse Bistro in Wilmington’s Little Italy.
Without leaving Sussex County, coastal residents can sample the hospitality company’s exceptional food at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, April 27, when The Room at Cedar Grove hosts a chef’s table featuring Jeff Matyger, director of culinary operations, and Nick Georigi, beverage director.
“Platinum Dining Group offers some of the best food in Delaware,” said chef/sommelier Paul Cullen, who founded The Room at Cedar Grove. “We are stoked to have such high-level pros cook in an intimate environment.”
The menu, which focuses on seasonal ingredients, includes special food and beverage pairings for every course.
The reception will feature fett’unta with whipped ricotta and ramps, paired with the cocktail Dangerous Sage, made with Uncle Val’s Botanical Gin, lemon and sage syrup. For the first course, guests may enjoy seared scallop with asparagus velouté, served with Paul Cullen Wines’ Roero Arneis. The second course consists of arugula, frisée and radicchio with lemon-anchovy vinaigrette and parmigiana Reggiano accompanied by Sauvignon Blanc from Reuilly, Cordaillat in France. It will be followed by a third course of beet-and-ricotta-stuffed pasta with butter, tarragon and a pistachio crumble served with Frappato from Aglio di Pianetto in Sicily.
The entree of herb-crusted lamb tenderloin with English pea purée, Dijon-glazed carrots and lamb jus will be served with a Cabernet Franc from Garzon in Uruguay, and dessert of lemon cream cake with blueberry preserve paired with El Coto Semi Dolce Blanco from Spain will round out the delectable meal.
Tickets are $125 per person, and proceeds benefit Paul Kares, a charity founded by Cullen and Jim Rivette to support young musicians and aspiring culinary professionals.
