Women’s Club of Milton awards 2024 scholarships

The Women's Club of Milton awarded $3,000 scholarships to three women residing in Milton and entering their freshman year of college.

Successful applicants were selected based on their academics, community involvement  and extracurricular activities. 

Ellie Davis was involved in many clubs at Sussex Academy. She also completed 13 credits at Delaware Technical Community College in preparation for the Rapid Sequence Nursing Program. Davis will be attending Delaware Tech while working at Nemours Children’s Hospital. She plans to specialize in pediatric nursing.

Kayla Droge graduated from Cape Henlopen High School as a scholar athlete, participating in three sports while maintaining honor roll status. She will attend University of Delaware to obtain a bachelor’s degree in nursing. Her long-term goal is to earn a master’s degree and become a nurse practitioner.

Sara Dawson is a talented musician, playing the electric and upright bass in Cape Henlopen High School’s jazz band, and was named all-state jazz bass first chair in grades nine through 12. At Cape she was an officer for the National Honor Society and Business Professionals of America, competing in activities at the state and national levels. She plans to study business at the University of Delaware.

The Women’s Club of Milton is a member of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs, one of the world’s oldest and largest women’s service organizations dedicated to community improvement through volunteer service.
