Women's Club of Milton planning holiday house tour Dec. 9

September 17, 2023

Members of the Women’s Club of Milton are excited to announce the annual Milton Holiday House Tour, the club’s largest fundraiser of the year, is set for 2:30 to 6:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 9.

The holiday house tour committee is busy working behind the scenes to make the 2023 tour the best ever.

In the past, this popular event has welcomed more than 450 guests who enthusiastically participate in the magic and warmth that is Milton. This year’s tour will include some of the most beautifully decorated Milton homes and three Milton public venues. Since the holiday house tour takes place on the same day as the Milton Holly Festival, many visitors plan their day to enjoy both events.

The women’s club will also participate in the holly festival by offering its famous home-baked goods and 50-50 raffle tickets for sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., (or sooner if sold out) at the Milton Fire House.

Proceeds from the tour will enable the club to award scholarships to local women entering college as well as funding other nonprofit services. Through the generosity of its supporters, the club was able to award four $3,000 scholarships to young high school graduates this year.

Tickets for the tour will go on sale Wednesday, Nov. 1. Pre-event ticket sale locations will be: Salon Milton, the Mercantile at Milton, and Lewes Gourmet in Lewes. Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 on the day of the tour, when tickets will be sold at the Mercantile at Milton, the club bake sale at the Milton Fire Hall and at the Milton Historical Society and Museum. To reserve tickets directly after Friday, Oct. 20, call 302-329-9738 and leave a detailed message with a name and phone number. All tickets were sold out last year.

The Women’s Club of Milton is a member of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs. The GFWC is one of the world’s oldest and largest women’s service organizations dedicated to community improvement through volunteer service. Each club sets its agenda and works on projects and programs that address the specific needs of their communities.
