Worcester Prep students celebrate veterans
Worcester Preparatory School’s students in fourth and fifth grades presented a musical program together Nov. 11 to celebrate veterans.
The Veterans Day Program, directed by WPS Lower School Music Teacher, Mrs. Joanie Brittingham, began with the Presentation of Colors led by guests from the American Legion. This year’s guest speakers were Col. Daniel Wells; father of Cathy Roman, lower school art teacher; WPS alum, Cadet 3rd class Ava Wilsey; and WPS parent, Marine Maj. Rebecca Hagner.
Youngsters performed “Star Spangled Banner,” America the Beautiful,” and “God Bless America.” Students in attendance were able to invite family members and friends who have served, or are currently serving, in the military and enjoy a visit with them following the performance.
