Wreaths Across America comes to Millsboro
Veterans cemetery takes part in the country-wide event

Every December on Wreaths Across America Day, citizens take to veterans’ cemeteries for an event of remembrance and holiday spirit devoted to those who have fought for this country.
On Dec. 14, Wreaths Across America Day was held at the Millsboro Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Visitors were able to sponsor Veterans’ Remembrance Wreaths. In 2018, over 1.8 million wreaths were placed across 1,640 locations in the 50 states, abroad, and at sea, and 2,115 wreaths were placed at the Millsboro cemetery.

Wreaths were placed on every gravestone at the vast cemetery.

Boy Scout Troop 90 of Laurel came out to volunteer.
Wreaths Across America began in 2008 at 300 locations and has grown exponentially since.
Many volunteers showed up on the rainy day to help memorialize lost heroes.
