Yappy Hour set at Bethany Blues in Lewes July 19

July 13, 2016

Happy Hour at Bethany Blues of Lewes is going to the dogs with a Yappy Hour set from 3 to 6 p.m., Tuesday, July 19. With a newly renovated patio, General Manager Strohm Edwards is excited to unveil the new style of happy hour at Blues for customers and their furry friends alike.

"People come to the beach to be outside and enjoy the weather," Edwards says. "With our new patio we're offering an extension in that spirit. Adding the Yappy Hour, where people can bring their pets, seemed like a fun way to kick it off."

Bethany Blues of Lewes has long had a patio, but it has been newly revamped with lattices to the block out the hustle and bustle of the highway, and a sail shade to provide comfort. There are high tops for dining, and lower seating as well. For cooler nights in the summer and shoulder season there is a beautiful, wood-burning fire place.

The staff at Bethany Blues of Lewes knows how much people love their pets, and the Yappy Hour is a fun way to do something out of the box. Executive Chef Jordan Bohall wanted in on the fun, so he and his Pastry Chef Sandy Sanchez came up with an in-house recipe for dog treats. The doggie delectables are all natural, limited ingredient and made in-house. Every dog that attends will receive a signature dog treat in a frisbee, along with a Bowser Beer (a broth dogs go wild for). The homemade dog treats will be for sale in the lobby as well.

For humans in attendance, normal happy hour will also be in play. There will be $3 to $5 drink specials including $5 bourbon crushes, $4 rail drinks, $3 Jim Beam Fire shots, and several beer specials. For those in the mood for something from the kitchen, there will be lots to choose from including $7 brisket nachos, $6 Pigs on the Wing and $5 barbecue sliders.
