Young local musician studies, performs in the Philippines

Local musician Joseph “JJ” Ohri, age 9, just returned home to Lewes with his parents Sanjay and Liza from a month-long visit to the Philippines.
While they were there, JJ was invited by a local music production studio called SouthWest Music to learn and play the bass guitar, and he picked it so well after just four sessions that he was invited to take part in their Annual Recital.
He performed on stage to an audience of 100-plus attendees in a mall, playing songs like “Let It Be” by the Beatles, “Island in the Sun” by Weezer, “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now” by Starship and “Imagine” by John Lennon.
JJ Ohri learned to play the bass guitar so well after just four sessions that he was invited to perform in SouthWest Music studio’s Annual Recital.
Performing onstage before more than 100 people in the Philippines is 9-year-old Cape Region resident JJ Ohri.
