After this issue, the Beach Paper will be but a fond memory. Of course we’ll be back in the spring, but the Rehoboth Foodie can’t help but fret over your off-season nourishment. How will you muddle through without your weekly helping of Steppin’ Up To The Plate?
As part of our community outreach, I’ve assembled a handy survival guide. You might want to cut this out and have it professionally laminated, or better yet, tattooed somewhere easy to access. (Dotted lines have been provided in the print edition for cutting convenience. Who loves ya, baby!?)
Rehoboth Beach Jazz Festival will sing from Oct. 13 through 17. Restaurants serve up live music along with their regular menus. Don’t miss live jazz at 1776 Steakhouse on Wednesday evening, Oct. 13, along with live music at Indigo Indian Restaurant on Thursday, Atlantic Social on Saturday, and even Mulligan’s Pointe in Georgetown on Friday. Headliners for 2021 include Blood, Sweat & Tears, and master guitarist Peter White. See the entire lineup at RehobothJazz.com.
Rehoboth-Dewey Chamber’s Fall Sidewalk Sale is set for Oct. 2 and 3, with Sea Witch Festival not far behind, Oct. 29 to 31. If it’s warm, expect everybody to be open, with lunch specials as you shop, and bewitchin’ dining deals for Halloween.
You won’t go hungry in November, either, because many restaurants welcome guests with traditional Thanksgiving buffets and prix fixe dinners. You can even celebrate Thanksgiving Eve (they promise NO turkey!) with live music at Touch of Italy in Rehoboth. When vacationers aren’t looking, pretty much everybody gets into the act over the holidays during the downtown tree lighting and the Rehoboth Christmas Parade. Ring in the new year pretty much anywhere, including Touch of Italy Rehoboth’s deliciously Italian extravaganza.
Polar Bear Plunge brings warming happy-hour potions, and Presidents Day/Valentine’s/St. Paddy’s weekends see most restaurants open. Be sure to call for reservations! Rehoboth dining is no longer a secret.
The off-season & holiday specials list at RehobothFoodie.com is kept as up-to-date as humanly possible (deals, moods and hours change with the wind – always call!), and if you’re one of the many fortunates who owns the Rehoboth In My Pocket travel app, simply press Off-Season Specials & Discounts. My weekly column in Cape Gazette is fine-tuned to keep you on the leading edge.
What better way to top off the season than with a shameless plug? See you next year!
