‘Jojo Rabbit’ opening at the Cinema Art Theater Jan. 10

January 9, 2020

Starting Friday,  Jan 10, the Rehoboth Beach Film Society’s Cinema Art Theater will present “Jojo Rabbit,” a moving comedy-drama about a little boy in Nazi Germany who has an imaginary friend named Adolf Hitler.

Writer director Taika Waititi brings his signature style of humor and pathos to his latest film, a World War II satire that follows a lonely Jojo whose world view is turned upside down when he discovers his single mother (played by Scarlett Johansson) is hiding a young Jewish girl in their attic. Aided only by his idiotic imaginary friend, Jojo must confront his blind nationalism.

Screening times are 4 p.m., Friday, Jan 10; and 7 p.m., Saturday, Jan 11). Admission is $8 for members and $11 for future members. Customers are encouraged to purchase tickets online. If seats are available, tickets can be purchased at the theater starting 30 minutes prior to each screening.
