From Delaware to Maine with good brews too

At the 40Paper bar and restaurant in downtown Camden, the bar's chalk board was advertising a group of great draft brews including DogfishHead's Bitches Brew and Allagash brewery's Fluxus ale.  Karl Arnberg, who recently married Lewes's Leah Hoenen - a former Cape Gazette reporter - and then hauled her off to Portland, Maine, is a Dogfish alumnus who now brews for Allagash.  It was good to look at the chalkboard - while sampling a flight of the brews - knowing some of the pedigrees of the ales.
At a shop in downtown Camden specializing in bamboo products, I spotted this bicycle with a bamboo frame.
This is back in Delaware, some ground pine along Freeman Highway in Lewes with an amazing color.  Ain't it purdy?

I made a trip to Camden, Maine last week to visit the Cape Gazette's Village Soup partners on their home turf.  Here are a few photos from that trip which involved flying from Salisbury to Charlotte to Boston to Owl's Head.  Up and down the coast.  From sandy beaches to rocky harbors.  From warm October temperatures here to cooler temperatures in the cedar-studded north country.

Lobster prices were ridiculous - six for $25.  Not quite sure why but who's complaining? Answer: the lobstahmen.

It's been a while since I blogged so I've added some other photographs of images that caught my eye in the past two weeks.
