Summer League Week 6

 

Elementary Division

 

The #1 seeded Guards defeated the #4 seeded Dunes by a final of 7-0 to move into the championship game on Wednesday. Scoring for the Guards were: Jillian Reed, Tenley Hazzard (2), Brielle DiStefano (2), and Bryn DiStefano.

In the other semi-final game, the #2 seeded Waves defeated the #3 seeded Tides by a final of 4-1. Vivian Bolden (2), Emerson Allen, and Finley Allen had the goals for the Waves and Evan Chubb had the solo goal for the Tides.

 

The Guards wearing white will meet the Waves wearing blue at 6:00 in the championship game on the turf at Cape Henlopen HS on Wednesday evening.

 

Senior Division

 

In the final set of games in the senior division the Baffins earned a spot in the championship game by defeating the Bengals by a final of 6-3. The Bengals took the early lead in the game behind a goal by Avery Congleton in the opening quarter. Katelyn Stafford and Emily Stafford scored to put the Baffins un 2-1 at halftime. Brynn Evick goal at 8:23 tied the game for the Bengals but Lily Ashby scored to put the Baffins ahead at 4:34. Evick then scored at 1:37 for another tie before Ashby scored at :30 to, again, give the lead to the Baffins. Leah Metzner and Katelyn Stafford finished out the scoring for the Baffins in the 4th quarter for the win.

The Pumas defeated the Seahawks by a final of 3-1. Joslyn Cain and Greilly Fuentes (2) had the goals for the Pumas while Annie Partyka had the single goal for the Seahawks.

In the final game of the night, the Artics had a huge opening half to defeat the Corals by a final of 5-0. Lacy Bayley (2), Maci Long, Emma Moore and Liv Muir had the goals for the Artics.

 

The Artics are the #1 seed for the championship game and will wear white while the #2 seeded, Baffins will wear the blue. The championship game for the senior division will begin at 7:15 on Wednesday evening on the turf at Cape.
