Kids and Plant-Based Eating

Can a growing boy find health and happiness in Grandma's Plant-Based kitchen? You bet! This 11 year old runs all day long on breakfast oats and fruit, lunchtime beans and potatoes, and dinnertime whole grain pasta and sauce with frozen banana chunks for dessert!

Want to keep up? Drink lots of water and follow his lead.

We like this quick and easy meatless, oil-free MARINARA SAUCE from Lindsay Nixon's HAPPY HERBIVORE:

1 28 oz crushed tomatoes with basil
2 tablespoons Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon granulated garlic powder
1 teaspoon granulated onion powder
Red pepper flakes to taste
1 teaspoon agave nectar (optional)

Mix together in saucepan and warm 10-20 minutes.
