French fries are one my weaknesses, and I have a really hard time getting by Thrasher's French Fries in Rehoboth Beach without stopping.
My favorite fries were mentioned among the top fries in the nation in the November issue of Travel+Leisure magazine. The boardwalk fries made from fresh-cut potatoes and fried in peanut oil were right up there with Duck Fat in Portland, Maine, Chego in Los Angeles, Hubcap Grill in Houston, Texas, Breslin Bar and Dining Room in New York City and Bourbon Steak in Miami.
The magazine listed 25 of the top fries in the country with Thrasher's in the middle of the pack. The company started and is based in Ocean City, Md.
Doing a Google search I ran across another best french fry list put out by Huffington Post. While Thrasher's was not on the list, there were at least two establishments on both lists: Pike Street Fish Fry in Seattle, Wash., and Pommes Frites in New York City. I've put those two places on my bucket (of fries) list.
