New York City skyline: Photos tell the story

April 10, 2018

The events of Sept. 11, 2001, almost seem unreal. To think that terrorists could actually bring down the Twin Towers seems like a terrible nightmare. Once the rubble was cleared, One World Trade Center started to rise. The new One World Trade Center – on the footprint of the original Twin Towers – has been called a new civic icon for the country. It’s become a top tourist attraction in NYC as has the eight-acre National Sept. 11 Memorial and Museum. As you walk around the memorial park and the museum, you are profoundly touched by the tragic event that claimed the lives of more than 2,600 innocent workers and first responders.
