During the first snow storm of 2015 Quad Squad captain Sara Desmond took the DJI Phantom drone into the sky at an altitude of 170 feet to photograph the school. Due to the cloud cover our drone was drifting and couldn't connect to satellites. "It was a struggle to get the drone to take off straight up and maintain a steady position for clear photographs because of the wind. I was worried about the snow causing a blurry picture or making the drone technology wet but the flight was successful with minor turbulence." Sara Desmond says.
