U14 Lighthouse Wins Pool at the National Indoor Tournament

Delaware Shore U14 results from the Nation Indoor Tournament, March 3-5, 2017

 

The U14 Lighthouse team started their tourney with a 4-2 win in their only game on March 3rd. They defeated the Warlocks with goals by Reagan Caibattoni 92) and Sommer Dorman. Moving into Saturday morning the team won a close game over Charlotte Ambush by a final of 4-3. Ciabattoni, Maggie Dawson and Emma Duffield had the goals. After falling behind by two goals in their next game against Mystx Blizzard, the team regrouped behind goals by Ciabattoni 92) and Dorman (2) to earn the win.

The first game on Sunday morning was a highly disputed lost to Uprise Gray by a supposed score of 6-7. The actual score was 6-6 but one umpire had it as 6-7 so no effort could get it recorded properly. Ciabattoni (2), Ally Best, Emma Westbrook, Sam Connors and Dorman had the Lighthouse goals.

The team finished pool play with a 7-2 win over State College. Ciabattoni (5), Lori Sapp (2) did the scoring. Both the Mystx and Lighthouse team finished with identical 4-1 records but the tie-breaker of total goals scored game the pool championship to Lighthouse.

 

The U14 Breakers finished in 2nd place in their pool with a 4-1 record. On March 3rd the team opened with a 3-1 win over Rampage and Noelle Sabbagh 92) and Lily Ashby did the scoring. In their second game, the team defeated the Alley Cats White by a final of 5-2. Sabagh (2), Ashby (2) and Emma Sekscinski had the goals. The goalie for the first two games was Bella Myers. In their first game on Saturday, March 4 they again won by a final of 5-2 over Reach Gray. Sabbagh (3), Ashby and Liv Muir did the scoring. The only stumbling the team did was in their fourth game which ended as a 2-3 loss to the eventual pool champion, NJ Starz Blue. Sabbagh had both the goals for the team.

They finished their tourney run with a 5-0 win over PA Power in the morning of March 5th. Ashby (2) and Sabbagh (3) again provided the scoring punch. The goalie for the final three games was Elie Cerchio.
