Week Six Part A
Elementary Division
In semi-final action the #1 seed, Guards, defeated the #4 seed, Tides by a final of 5-1. The Guards distributed their scoring over all four quarters with goals by Harlow Draper, Macy Wheatley (2), Brielle DiStefano, and Ginny Keys. Jaimee Frankel had the goal for the Tides in the 4th quarter. The other semi-final game ended at 1-1 in regulation. Ellis Hay had put the Waves in the lead with her goal at 5:55 of the 3rd quarter but Tenley Hazzard scored at :48 in the 4th quarter to force the shootout. Hay and Jillian Reed scored for the Waves to put them into the championship game.
The championship game will be played on Wednesday, July 21st, starting at 6:00 pm.
Senior division:
In the final regular season games of the senior division, the Bengals and the Baffins played to a 4-4 tie and game everyone a preview of the championship game! Lacy Bayley scored in the 1st quarter for the lead for Baffins but Emma Westbrook tied the game at 6:25 of the 2nd quarter. Abby Kane scored at 2:40 to give the lead back to the Baffins at halftime. Westbrook and Madi Cook scored in the 3rd quarter to put the Bengals back in the lead but Hailey Moore scored a pair of goals to again give the lead to the Baffins. Cadence McMahon scored at 1:20 for the Bengals to finish the game in a tie.
Avery Congleton scored at 7:01 in the 2nd quarter to give the Pumas a hard-earned win over the Seahawks.
The final game of the evening was another tie between the Corals and the Artics. Madi Simpson gave the Corals the lead with her goal at 7:52 of the 3rd quarter. Ally Miller tied the game with her first goal at 7:01 of the 4th quarter but Maddie Wilber gave the lead back to the Corals with a goal at 4:40. Miller got the game tying goal at :05 for the exciting finish to the night.
The Bengals and the Baffins will face of for the championship on Wednesday evening with a game time of 7:15. Goal keepers will be Allison Clark and Eve Sekscinski.
