Lovelyn B. Carmichael, government retiee
Lovelyn B. Carmichael, 79, of Lewes, passed away Sunday, April 3, 2011, at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes. She was born Nov. 6, 1931, in Laurel Fork, Va., daughter of the late Emmett and Mertie (Bowman) Bolt.
She was a devoted mother and grandmother and a member of the Southern Baptist Church. Ms. Carmichael enjoyed a long career with the Pulaski County government in Virginia, working in social services.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Roy Bolt and Norman Bolt; and two sisters Dorothy Bolt and Hazel Thomas. She is survived by three sons: James Haney and wife Becky of Decatur, Tenn., Roger Haney and wife Lisanne of Prospect Hts, Ill., and Harvey Carmichael of Lewes; one daughter: Patrice Bascom and husband Sean of Norfolk, Va.; five grandchildren: Joe Haney, Bob Haney, Dan Haney, Beckie Michalski and Wanda Haney; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Clint Bolt, of Port Orange, Fla.; and three sisters: Faye Wilkerson and husband Wally, of Woodlawn, Va., Helen Talbot, of Asheville, N.C. and Nelda Payne and husband James, of Radford, Va.; and many loving nephews and nieces. She will be dearly missed by her family and all that have grown to love her.
The family would like to thank the staff of Fresenius Dialysis Center of Rehoboth Beach for their many years of care. Also the family expresses gratitude to the I.C.U. staff of Beebe Medical Center for their excellent care of Ms. Carmichael.
Private services will be held in Laurel Fork, Va. at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Lewes.
