Mid-Summer Tourney
United Through Hockey for Change (UTH)
Delaware Shore is partnering with United Through Sport for a fundraiser benefiting United Through Sport and Delaware Shore Scholarship programs. This tourney will be a 6 vs 6 outdoor tourney (field size of 50 yd. by 60 yd.) on the turf at Cape Henlopen High School on Wednesday, July 6, 2016. The teams will be placed in pools of four with each team playing four games during a three-hour stretch of time. Outdoor field hockey rules will apply (FIH), with modifications. Teams are encouraged to be co-ed and will be placed in age compatible pools for play.
Information about United Through Sport (UTS):
UTS is focused on working with kids from disadvantaged backgrounds using the power of sport to improve education, raising health awareness, and building life-skills. The local coordinator for UTS is Dom Scott, a former Cape Henlopen HS athlete, Delaware Shore field hockey member, and an East Stroudsburg University field hockey midfielder. She is currently the United Through Sport South Africa, Port Elizabeth, South Africa, Mass participation Program Manager.
