Francis 'Fran' Frampton, dedicated educator

Francis "Fran" Bennett Frampton, 80, of Lewes, passed away Monday, June 6, 2016, at Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. He was born Friday, Dec. 13, 1935, in Trappe, Md., son of the late Bennett S. Frampton and Martha (Findley) Frampton.

Mr. Frampton graduated from Easton High School in 1953. He then attended the University of Maryland where he received his master's of education in 1965. Mr. Frampton honorably served his country in the U.S. Army while stationed in Korea.

Mr. Frampton enjoyed a lifelong career teaching at the Montgomery County Public Schools from which he retired after 37 dedicated years. He taught many subjects, including industrial arts, tech prep and computer science. He also had a craft woodworking business making wooden toys.

Mr. Frampton was a member of Rehoboth VFW Post 7447, the Korean War Veterans Association Chapter 1 of Delaware, the Cape Henlopen Elks Lodge 2540 of Lewes, the Montgomery County Retired Teachers Association and the Sussex County Genealogical Society.

In his spare time he loved woodworking, gardening, making model trains, photography, traveling, reading, completing Sudoku puzzles, and genealogy. Mr. Frampton loved to go camping with his family. His grandkids were the apples of his eyes.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Frampton was preceded in death by his daughter, Martha Frances Frampton; and his brother, James C. Frampton. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Marjorie "Marge" F. Frampton of Lewes; his son, Paul B. Frampton and his wife Marguerite, of Rockville, Md.; his daughter, Helen Frampton Leinhauser and her husband Joseph M. of New London, Pa.; and six grandchildren: Rachel, Brooke, Matthew, Julia, Meghan and Sarah.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, June 11, at 11 a.m., at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, where friends may call beginning at 10 a.m. Burial with Military Honors will follow services at St. Peter's Cemetery, Pilottown Road, Lewes.
