De Shore Field Hockey Summer league drawing to a Conclusion

Elementary Division

The top seeded teams in the Elementary Division have played their way into the championship game on Monday, July 25^th at Champions Stadium, with a start time of 6:20 pm. The #1 seed, Greens, defeated the Grays by a final of 4-2. Baylie Williamson (2) and Kylee LaVere (2) had the goals for the winners, while Malory Wood and Peyton Moore scored for the Grays.

The #2 seed, Blues, earned their spot in the championship with a 7-3 win over the Reds. Macy Steinwedel had the big night with 5 goals for the Blues. Hannah Schaeffer and Josie Peranteau had the other goals for the Blues. Lyndsey Weller (2) and Hannah Maney did the scoring for the Reds.

The fifth place game between the Maroons and the Golds begin at 5:30, followed by the third place game between the Grays and Reds, with the championship game to follow.

Senior Division

The final night of pool play in the senior division opened with the Artics defeating an undermanned, Corals team by a final of 5-0. Taylor Smith had a hat trick for the Artics and Kayleigh Cordrey and Rylie Cordrey got the other goals for the winners. The Pumas defeated the Seahawks by a score of 5-1. Jenna Steele (3), Maddie Wilber, and Maggie Mitchell earned the goals for the Pumas, while Hailey Moore had the solo goal for the Seahawks.

In the nightcap, the Bengals beat the Baffins by a score of 4-2. Noelle Sabbagh (2), Marcella Sabbagh and Melanie McCloy got the goals for the Bengals while Maci Long had both goals for the Baffins.

The Pumas have earned the top seed for the championship game in the senior division while the Baffins are the #2 seed. During the regular season the teams split their games with the Pumas taking the first game by a 2-1 score then the Baffins returned the favor with a 5-4 win later in the summer.

The senior division championship game will be played at 7:00 pm on Monday, July 25^th on the turf at Champions Stadium, Cape Henlopen HS. Medal presentations will follow the conclusion of the game.
