Michele Byrne painting to be auctioned off at RAL outdoor show

Rehoboth Art League receives donation from noted plein air artist

Patrons at this year's Rehoboth Art League 43rd Annual Outdoor Fine Art and Fine Craft Show will have an opportunity to win an original oil painting by Michele Byrne, a Reading, Pa. resident and RAL member who is recognized for her figurative plein air work.

The painting will be on display in the Corkran Gallery during the outdoor show. Raffle tickets are $5 per ticket or five tickets for $20. The painting is valued at $3,700. Tickets may be purchased in advance at RAL's Henlopen Acres location. During the show they will be available at the membership booth and the front desk in the Corkran Gallery through Aug. 14. The winning ticket will be pulled at 4 p.m. Aug. 14.

To be eligible, ticket holders must be 18 years or older and include phone number, address, email and name on each ticket. The winner does not need to be present at the time of the drawing. Also during the outdoor show, the Rehoboth Art League Homestead Docents will sell RAL memorabilia and artwork which has been donated by the show artists.

The show dates are Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 6 and 7, and Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 13 and 14. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sundays. This year's show is underwritten by Jack Lingo, Realtor.

The art league provides two free, off-site parking locations and the Jolly Trolley shuttle to take patrons to and from the outdoor show. The shuttle can be picked up at the Kmart on Route 1 and Rehoboth Elementary School at 500 Stockley St. Ext. The shuttle service begins at 9:45 a.m. each day and makes continuous circuits during the day.
