Archery newest Sports at the Beach offering

Range is the only one in downstate Delaware

Sports at the Beach, known for its popular baseball tournaments, is branching out this year to offer other sports – including pickle ball – and training at a new indoor facility. And as this summer neared an end, the facility opened the only archery range in downstate Delaware.

Archery golf and range shooting are available on weekends from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and weekdays by appointment from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Mike Walls, an experienced archer from Harbeson, is range master and instructor for the new program. He will offer lessons by appointment.

“Anybody can shoot. It takes a little bit of time and patience with newcomers,” Walls said. “I've got this in my blood, and I like to share it with others.”

Sports at the Beach is located at 22518 Lewes-Georgetown Highway east of Georgetown.
