Alfred Arthur Mousley Jr., retired plumber

Alfred Arthur Mousley Jr., 86, of Lewes, passed away Monday, May 23, 2011, at his residence.  He was born May 26, 1924 in Wilmington, son of the late Mary (Twaddell) and Alfred A. Mousley Sr.

Mr. Mousley was a veteran of World War II.  In 1956 he opened his own plumbing and HVAC company which he ran until his retirement.  He served as past president of the Lions Club and of the plumbing and heating association.  He enjoyed his farm and hunting with his sons and friends in Potter County, Pa.  He was a member of Groome United Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Margaret (King) Mousley in 2004.  He is survived by his four sons: Artie and his wife Joan, Mel and his wife Pam, Allan and his wife Mary Ann and Dwayne and his girlfriend Kristin; six grandchildren: Al IV, Frank, Steve, Karen, Jennifer, and Allan Jr.; and eight great-grandchildren.  He is also survived by his brother Donald of Chadds Ford, Pa.; his sister Janet Scott of Kennett Square, Pa.; and his great caregiver, Lori Hickman.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 31, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, where the family will receive friends beginning at 10 a.m.  Interment will follow at Bethel Methodist Cemetery, Lewes.
