Joseph J. Ploch, very patriotic

Joseph J. Ploch, 71, of Millsboro, passed away peacefully at Beebe Healthcare, Lewes, Monday, Jan. 23, 2017.  

Mr. Ploch was born in Baltimore, Md., to the late John C. and Irene R. (Yablonski) Ploch.  He faithfully served his county in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.  

He was a member of the Sussex County Bible Church, American Legion Post 28, VFW Post 7234 and the Long Neck Senior Center, where he was taking art classes.  He volunteered at the VA Sussex County Community Based Outpatient Clinic in Georgetown.  Mr. Ploch enjoyed fishing, as well as watching television and movies.  He was very patriotic and loved the Lord, his family, and his country.  

He is survived by his hometown sweetheart, Catherine (Blazucki) Ploch; sons, Joshua David Ploch and Daniel Joseph Ploch; brother, Thomas A. Ploch; grandsons, Bailey and Jamie Ploch: granddaughter, Lily Ploch; and numerous nieces and nephews.  

A memorial service was held Saturday, Feb. 4, at the Holiday Inn Timonium, 9615 Deereco Road, Timonium, Md.  Arrangements in the care of Short Funeral Services, Georgetown.
