Xi Sigma Chapter installs new officers

June 11, 2017

The Xi Sigma Chapter of the international Sorority of Beta Sigma Phi began the 2017-18 sorority year recently with the installation of new officers at the home of member Carolyn Joyce. Under the guidance of new officers (l-r) Treasurer Carolyn McClelland, Corresponding Secretary Jane McGann, President Carolyn Joyce, Recording Secretary Kris Pritchett and Vice President Clare Johnson, Xi Sigma is planning another eventful year.

Residing in the Cape Region, members are part of an international friendship network, providing educational programs to members and opportunities of service in their community.

This year's service project is Attack Addiction, Sussex County Chapter. Addiction is a disease of epidemic proportions and growing out of control. The main purpose of the group is to educate and bring awareness of addiction as a disease, rather than the stigma that is suffered in shame by the person with the disease and their loved ones.

Addiction is treatable, get help, get informed, get active. Sussex County Chapter meets as a support group the first Wednesday of each month. The chapter of Xi Sigma will be planning fundraising events at local restaurants in the Lewes area.

Contact attackaddictionsussexde@comcast for more information on addiction as a disease. All are welcome at the Wednesday meetings.
