Acrylic and watercolor painting classes set at Rehoboth Art League
The Rehoboth Art League is offering acrylic and watercolor painting classes in September.
Acrylic painting is a great medium for beginners because it dries quickly and is very forgiving. If not happy with an area painted, let it dry and paint right over it in a matter of minutes. Learn Acrylic Painting Basics Tuesdays from 1 to 3 p.m., Sept. 26 to Oct. 17. This four-week class will introduce participants to composition as well as painting and brush techniques. Local instructor Myndi Smithers will also cover color theory and mixing acrylic colors. The cost is $100 for members and $135 for nonmembers.
Many people shy away from using watercolor because they fear it is too difficult to control. Watercolor can be a challenging medium to master, but it is very easy and economical to get started, and students will find it becomes less daunting as they progress. Watercolor Painting Basics will be offered from 6:15 to 8:15 p.m., Tuesdays, Sept. 26 to Oct. 17. Brush techniques and water control will be practiced, and experimentation will be encouraged.
Drawing for watercolor paintings, composition, and developing a personal style will be emphasized. The cost is $100 for members and $135 for nonmembers.
