Annual Rehoboth Chocolate Festival benefits Harry K Foundation

Overall winner of the Rehoboth Beach Chocolate Festival was The Ice Cream Store. Fins won a first-place blue ribbon for its brownie, a highly competitive category. Shown with their brownie, a recipe from Head Chef Keith Harster’s grandma are Harster, left, and Antonio Shunico.

Eden and Jam worked together on their chocolate entries. Standing behind their first place showpiece titled Imagination, are (l-r) Manager Craig Rainier, pastry chef Olivia Henning and Craig Esposito. They also won first-place in the candy division and third-place in the brownie category.

Holding a handful of ribbons is Big Fish Grill’s Head Pastry Chef Rihannon Lorah and with its second place in the cookie category, Macaroon with Rose Petal & Ganache, is Pastry Chef Angela Natrin. They also won a blue ribbon for their Dacquoise cake and a third palace for the showpiece, The Red Queen.

The Harry K Foundation Rehoboth Chocolate Festival was held March 10 at the Atlantic Sands Swan Ball Room. Over 20 entrants competed for ribbons and bragging rights in eight categories. All proceeds from the event go directly to feeding hungry children throughout the State of Delaware through the Harry K Foundation School Food Pantries, Backpack Program and the Baby Pantry.

The winners were chosen by a group of judges and the VIA volunteers were out in force supporting the event.
