Mariner Middle named AVID Schoolwide Site of Distinction

The AVID Center announced March 1 that Mariner Middle School was named an AVID Schoolwide Site of Distinction. This is the highest rating a school can achieve on the AVID Certification Continuum.
Schoolwide Site of Distinction schools are those that are implementing both the AVID Elective and AVID Schoolwide programs with high levels of fidelity. They are considered to have transformed the philosophy of the school to one of college readiness for all students. The AVID program is currently offered to students in sixth through 12th grades in the Cape Henlopen School District, and it is designed to prepare them for four-year college eligibility.
