Carson Watts earns Eagle Scout award

April 2, 2018

Carson Watts was presented with his Eagle Scout award, scouting’s high honor, March 24 at Wesley United Methodist Church in Georgetown.

He is the son of Karen Wagamon of Milton, and a member of Troop 95 of Georgetown. His scoutmaster is Ben Ables.

In order to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout, Watts had to earn 21 merit badges and show leadership by planning, developing and completing a community service project. For his project, Watts partnered with Easterseals of Georgetown. He led his team of Boy Scouts in constructing 10 raised vegetable/flower beds for the Easterseals clients. The beds were made from pressure-treated wood with storage shelving built in and wheels for easy transport around the facility. Five were constructed at standing height and five were constructed at wheelchair height.

Watts attends Sussex Technical High School where he is active in the U.S. Army JROTC. As cadet staff sergeant, he has received the Distinguished Cadet Award for freshman year and is also a member of Raiders and Drill Team.

Watts is also involved in Order of the Arrow Delmarva Council, Sea Scout Troop 198 and the YMCA Youth in Government program.
