Redesigned website unveiled for Southern Delaware Tourism

June 16, 2018

Southern Delaware Tourism unveiled its new website just in time for the start of the summer season.

“We’re really excited about the new site,” says Scott Thomas, executive director. “Our website had become outdated and needed to be far more visually impactful, more intuitive to navigate, and more user friendly. Our calendar of events needed to be more manageable and responsive as well. This new site achieves all of that and more.”

Because SDT’s website is often the first encounter prospective visitors have with Sussex County, it was important to have the website convey the area’s real feel. The site now achieves this with lots of compelling visuals, along with concise, accessible content and easy navigation.

Although the website is designed primarily with potential visitors in mind, SDT also wanted to incorporate elements that would make it a valuable resource for other audiences, including group tour leaders and meeting planners, travel media, and locals who use the SDT website as a resource for entertaining family and out-of-town guests.

Chosen to undertake the redesign was the D3 Digital Marketing Agency, headquartered in Ocean City, Md. "This site is a perfect example of responsive and resourceful web design," said John Gehrig, D3 president. "It allows for visual navigation, which creates a much more efficient user experience. We’re thrilled to partner with Southern Delaware Tourism in creating the digital presence they need to promote Sussex County."

Emilie Cook, D3 account and project manager, said, "As a Sussex County resident, I was thrilled to be a part of the D3 team working on SDT’s website. We worked diligently to create a robust website to serve as the go-to Sussex County resource for visitors and residents. This is truly a project our team and our client can be proud of."
