ig Burton to celebrate 110th anniversary in Milford Sept. 15

On Saturday, Sept. 15, i.g. Burton & Company Inc., is hosting a 110th anniversary celebration event at the Chevrolet dealership located in Milford. The celebration, to be held from noon to 2 p.m., is a gathering of family, friends, customers and dignitaries to commemorate the opening of i.g. Burton in 1908.
“I’m really looking forward to this day,” said Charlie Burton, owner. “We have a lot to be thankful for. So, this event is a thank you from i.g. Burton and Company to all of our great customers, friends, vendors, and everyone who has entrusted us with their transportation needs over the last 110 years. As a fifth generation car dealer, it means a lot to me to have this event. We’re going to feature some vehicles from our history in the business including a vintage Maxwell and others, along with historic photos from throughout the years, and a special anniversary collectible for the attendees of the event. It’s a great thing to be able to say our business is 110 years old, and I truly want everyone to know that we appreciate it. I hope everyone who has supported us over the years will stop by.”
Out of the thousands of car dealerships in the United States, i.g. Burton and Company Inc. is one of less than 40 dealerships in the country to receive the Century Award from the NADA for being in the retail transportation business for at least 100 continuous years. They recently purchased dealerships in Berlin, Md., and Smyrna to expand their offering of vehicles to nearly 2,000 at any given time.
